Powerful Malbec made using the same techniques as the famous Cru Classé wines of Bordeaux. Made by Alejandro Vigil, Chief Winemaker at Catena. An intense Malbec from high-altitude vineyards in Luján de Cuyo in Mendoza's famous wine region, over 1,000 m above sea level. The wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which are new. The vinification here also echoes the technique used for the famous French Cru Classé wines of Bordeaux.
Expectations for the wine
The wine has an intense dark color, almost purple at the edges, a big bouquet of ripe, black berries with hints of spice and mocha, and a complex, full-bodied taste that finishes soft and fruity.
Food pairings
Barbecue, Poultry (dark meat), Pork, Veal, Lamb, Meditation wine, Beef, Cheese (hard), Stews, Game (birds)
